As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs or DOIs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Guidelines for Submission of Manuscripts

Editorial Policy

Each submitted manuscript shall be reviewed by two blind peer reviewers to be determined by the editor in chief or his assistant. Authors are also invited to note that papers that are not consistent with the aims and scope of the journal and which fall below the standard of the journal may be rejected by the Editor without being sent for review (desk rejection).

However, papers that are found worthy will be sent to two blind peer-reviewers and the review process will last for a maximum of one month. Author(s) will pay five thousand Naira (N 5,000) only, as processing fees. Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a publication agreement and a copyright form. A publication fee of twenty thousand Naira (N 20,000) will also be paid by authors of accepted papers.

 

Manuscript submission

The deadline for submission of manuscripts shall be two months to the date of the publication of the next issue of the journal. All submissions shall be made online; the article shall be written in the United Kingdom English. Manuscripts accepted for publication shall not be more than fifteen (15) pages; additional pages will attract a charge of one thousand naira (N 1,000) per page up to a maximum of twenty five (25) pages. Moreover, papers submitted for publication in the journal should be original (with similarity index of not more than 20%) and not yet published or are in the process of being published elsewhere.

 

Formatting and Structure of Manuscripts

Manuscripts submitted for publication should be structured as follows; the first page shall consist of the Title (concise and informative), full name and the affiliations of all authors, phone number and e-mail address of the corresponding author, Abstract (200 – 300 words), Key words (minimum of three and maximum of five), JEL Classification Codes (at least three). The subsequent pages shall be arranged based on the following headings; Introduction, Literature Review and/or Conceptual Frame Work, Methodology, Results, Discussion, References (arranged in alphabetical order) and Appendices (if applicable). All manuscripts shall be submitted as Microsoft word document, 1.5 line-spaced, on A4 size paper and shall follow the formatting guidelines provided in the latest edition of APA.
